Adults chat network
The show From his funny, catchy animations to his hilarious, unauthorized Harry Potter commentary, Brad Neely always makes my life a little more enjoyable.
The admiration extends to the artist's Adult Swim series, China, IL, which returns Sunday for a second season.
I didn't know what I was doing when I was writing in the 11-minute format; I was just cramming 22 minutes in there.
Daniel: And also, the network is getting bigger and moving earlier.
The 'toon takes place at a backwards college where the teachers are terrible, lazy and often drunk, and the students want to learn.
Characters include a chubby man-child named Baby Cakes, the inept "Professor Brothers" and a stern dean voiced by Hulk Hogan.
We rewrote the entire script for Hulk once we found out he was doing it. Daniel: Without thinking about who the character should be, we went after the more typical type of deans. Daniel: At first, (Hulk) was like, "Ten million dollars! I was a pretty good student in high school, then I got a toe into college and said, "F--- this, I'm quitting."Daniel: Brad has imagined this idea of what college really is like — sort of like high school for adults, where anything goes.
Brad: Then we were like, "No, this needs to be America's dad. " And we were like, "We don't have 10 million dollars." And then he was like, "OK." (Laughs)Brad, I've noticed you've been posting a lot of comics on your website. Brad: Yeah, I'm posting a new single-panel comic every weekday on Creased Comics. And because he never really had a campus experience, this show is his imagined version of it, which is far crazier than anyone's actual college experience. (Laughs)Note: The second season of China, IL kicks off Sunday at p.m.
Daniel: We didn't know what the character really was.
He needs a past president for certain steps along the way, so he gets Ronald Reagan, who, in our world, is alive and well.
We have one where the dean raises tuition to 0,000 a semester, so Pony kidnaps a celebrity to be able to go to school. Well, becomes a musical coach to our world's Bruce Springsteen.
I don't watch a whole lot of TV, but I have watched a lot of Seinfeld, Simpsons, South Park.
So I felt like I was set up to imitate those shows a lot easier. Reagan returns in an episode where Frank tries to find Thomas Jefferson's fabled diamond castle.

I'm so happy to hear episodes have been expanded to a half-hour this season. Brad: I think we decided, in concert with the network, that it would benefit the show.
